Events and Workshops

A new series of events, workshops, training or social get togethers are being developed for 2022. Below are an outline of those being planned and a few of the previous events, which provide a flavour of what we can offer based on your needs or interest, suggestions always welcome! Thankyou.

Events 2022

Now back up and running, we are planning a suite of events, training and workshops in the coming months on a range of subjects. Below a brief overview of some of these which will be updated shortly as they are finalised. Our aim is to reflect and develop subjects with your interests in mind, these tend to be offered either at minimal profit or at cost, in order to keep it practical and affordable.

Any questions (or suggestions) relating to events, please just contact us via phone or email for further information at this stage – we will post regular promotional updates on our Facebook page too.

  • Sheepdog training – Fully booked with almost 20 individuals taking part this summer (June - August 2022). Potential for a third group from September to be confirmed.

  • Walling Club – Ongoing events as part of the Our Upland Commons project – Various dates and venues over coming months, contact us if interested in getting involved with some practical (and free!) training. 

    • New Take Walling - 12th & 13th August  

    • ​Dry Stone Walling - 22nd & 23rd September​

    • Hedge laying - 27th & 28th October

  • Farm Admin course – Provisionally agreed for later this year, one night a week starting from 18th October, over 6 weeks to help you understand various tasks and admin requirements in the farm office. Our Tutor for these sessions will be Julie Tucker from JT Rural Office Services. Full details & costs to follow, bookable via HFP.

  • Soils & Grassland developing a series of Farm site visits with speakers for practical application of tips, ideas and knowledge sharing to help optimise your efficiency and productivity. 

  • Digital Skills and Marketing – Free Digital workshops summer/autumn 2022 designed specifically for Farmers, delivered by COSMIC. Please see the attached pdf document of courses and follow the link provided to sign up, or contact them for any questions (We are sharing this for awareness, it is not our direct event). 

  • Planning Advice – Bookable private sessions to run this autumn with DNPA colleagues. (Details tbc - to run from our Princetown office meeting room).


Adding Value grant funding (June 2022)

Free Mid Tier advice sessions (June 2022)

Bookable one to one private sessions here in our Princetown office, on behalf of Natural England, delivered via FWAG SW.
